Lango parliamentary group demands meeting with government over roads construction in Lango

Leaders of Lango parliamentary group have written to ministry of works and transport and ministry of finance to convene a meeting for leaders from Lango to discuss issues surrounding the planned construction of Lira-Kamdini road and other roads planned for in the national development plan 3.

Lango parliamentary group general secretary also Kole North MP Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti said they want the ministry of works to display to Lango leaders, the contract agreement for Lira-Kamdini road project which government signed with the contractor, Motaengil Africa since they have only seen the road design.

About construction of Amuca to Kole district road, Opio said Motaengil Africa begun working on a section from Odokomit to Amuca, leaving out other sections which are still battling issues of the road reserve.

He said they want to also meet minister of finance, Matia Kasaija to brief them on government plans to construct Dokolo-Namasale, Lira-Aloi-Otuke, Aboke to Bobi via Iceme and Ngai among others that Uganda national roads authority carried out a feasibility study on, stating where government plans to secure funds from to fund the projects.

Opio Acuti said they want government to tarmac roads in Lango measuring 520 km.
