BMK abandons another 16 billion shillings project

BMK Construction Company has reportedly abandoned 16 billion shillings project for construction of an administration block at Lira University.
Lira University PRO Patrick Opio told Voice of Lango FM that the company abandoned the project two months ago over unknown reasons.
He said Lira University leadership is considering terminating the contract that was awarded three years ago over incompetence exhibited by the contractor and source for another contractor to execute the project.
Effort to speak to officials of BMK construction company over the matter was futile.
Recently, Lira City Council authority also raised concern over abandonment of Anyangatir Health Center III project by the same contractor.
