Self-claimed pastor survives being lynched

Police of Anai police out post rescued a 50 year old man from an angry mob who threatened to lynch him after he claimed to be a man of God but it turned out that he was a witchdoctor.

Bosco Ayem the LC1 chairman of Ongica’ B’, Anai ward, Lira City West Division said he got reports about David Oruk who locals accused of practicing witchcraft much as he claimed to be a man of God offering deliverance prayers.

Ayem said he took time to investigate the matter and found Oruk was hosting six men, four women and three children whom he had slaughtered a goat for.

He was also found in possession of a shrine and an ancient pot, indicating that he could be a witchdoctor.

After this discovery, angry locals threatened to lynch Oruk but he was rescued by police.

Ayem said Oruk had been claiming to offer deliverance prayers but there were complaints from locals who claimed he was a witchdoctor.
