The Industrial Court sitting in Lira has ordered All Saints University, Lango to pay 718 million shillings to the university former staff.

This follows a case filed by 16 former staff of All Saints University, Lango led by Nelson Chong over non-payment of their salaries.

Justice Anthony Wabwire Musana who presided over the case ordered All Saints University to pay the complainants in three installments starting 1st July 2023, failure of which further action will be taken against the university.

Last week, Justice Wabwire Musana advised All Saints University, Lango to seek mediation with the complainants and return to court, but this seems to have hit a snag.

The lawyer who represented the complainants, Ponciano Okello said this should serve as a deterrent to other employers who refuse to pay their workers.

Nelson Chong who led the former staff of All Saints University, Lango welcomed the ruling with excitement.

The vice chancellor, All Saints University Lango, Prof. Anthony Andrew Cula said they will pay the complainants once their resource envelope allows.
