Woman poisons her one week old child over family disagreements

A woman who is a local of Etam Sub County, Amolatar district has reportedly poisoned her one week old child following a domestic misunderstanding.

Loy Ajok the wife to Okwir Bony who are residents of Acolam in Awiodyek parish, Etam Sub County reportedly had a fight with her husband who went for a night disco on Saturday night and returned home the following morning.

The LC1 chairman of Acolam, Patrick Oling said Ajok Loy confessed to them that she fed the child with poison with intention of killing it to allow her freedom to return to her parents’ home.

Oling adds that police picked Ajok on the 26th-Feb-2023 and she was taken to Amolatar health center 4 to nurse her baby while her husband was arrested for assaulting her and he is being held at Etam police post.

Oling cautioned married couples to seek amicable means to resolve their grievances as opposed to violence.
