Lira Referral Hospital to hold Barrazas aimed at boosting health services

Lira Regional Referral Hospital has mooted plans to hold community Barrazas in a bid to improve health service delivery to the people.
According to the Management of the Hospital, the Barrazas will help the hospital management to interact with the community in order to get feedback on how best they can improve and enhance quality health service delivery to the public.
Addressing journalists at the hospital boardroom Thursday afternoon, the Hospital Director, Dr Nathan Onyaci said the dialogue will support them in collecting views from the public on how to improve health service delivery at the facility and inform the public of available services offered at the hospital.
This will be the first time in history, where Lira Regional Referral Hospital will be organizing open community Barrazas to enable citizens give their feedback how services are being offered at the hospital.
According to Dr Onyaci, different stakeholders will openly discuss and share relevant information as well develop corrective strategies to outstanding challenges affecting access to quality health care.
Dr Onyaci said the four day dialogue will run from 4th -5th July 2024 and that the Prime Minister of Uganda Robinah Nabbanja will be Chief guest while the permanent secretary in ministry of health, Dr Diana Atwine will be the guest speaker.
Dr Jimmy Sewanyana, who is the chairperson organizing committee of Marathon slated for 15th June 2024 as part of activities being held at the sidelines of the meeting said the marathon will be flagged off by Lango paramount chief elect, Eng. Dr. Moses Michael Odongo Okune. During this marathon, a range of health services will be offered including; TB, and HIV screening among others.
