Minister Aceng, 2 MPs appointed as PLU Lango Top Bosses

The Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has appointed Minister of Health also Lira City Woman MP as the pioneer coordinator of Patriotic League of Uganda for Lango Sub region.
Dr Aceng will lead an eight member team that will run PLU activities in Lango and will be deputized by Kwania County MP also NRM Parliamentary whip in-charge Lango Tonny Ayo.
This is according to the latest appointments made by the PLU Chairman in a press release dated 8th June 2024,signed by the PLU General Secretary David Kabanda.
Others who have been appointed include Joe Omara Makin as Secretary, Oyite Emmanuel as publicity, Dr Lakisa Mercy as youth representative, Kioga North MP James Olobo Dubai as elders representative.
Lira City Deputy Mayor Rebbeca Alwedo Ogole has been appointed as PWD representative while Adia Rebbecca Moro will serve as women representative.
Kabanda noted that the top leadership of PLU is confident of the dedication and commitment of the appointees to combating corruption and wastage of resources.
He added that, they envisage that this team will significantly contribute to the efforts of engaging and mobilizing the citizenry in Lango sub region towards transformation and economic development.
Despite having reformed from MK movement to PLU as a fully-fledged civic movement, PLU had never had substantial leaders like other regions.
Many political pundits say, this is land mark move for PLU to penetrate Lango by having official coordinators.
Dr.Aceng now joins other Ministers like Lillian Aber, Dr Balaam Baharagara Atennyi and Peter Ogwang who have embraced the civic movement led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
