Minister of gender to ensure refund of money collected from youth to secure foreign jobs

Minister of gender, Betty Amongi has committed to ensure that money collected from a group of youth to secure foreign jobs by Arova Real Ltd is refunded
Speaking on Voice of Lango’s Wimeja on the 29th.7.2024, Minister Betty Amongi Akena asked the affected youth to come to Lira city this Friday with documents ascertaining that they paid the said money.
Amongi said she will also offer a bus to take the youth to her ministry in Kampala for a meeting with Arova Real Ltd Arova to ensure their money is refunded.
She distanced herself from the company and said the youth were recruited to go and work during the recent world cup but were not cleared by ministry of foreign affairs and their work period expired.
Amongi accused the youth of trying to tarnish her image.
The youth led by Okullu Stephen accuse Arova Real Ltd linked to minister Amongi of soliciting money from them with a promise of taking them to work during the last world cup in Qatar.
Bonny Chris Ogwang from Alebtong maintained that, money was collected from them.
Background
A section of 600 youths from Lango, Acholi and Teso have threatened to march to parliament to express their dissatisfaction against minister of gender, Betty Amongi Akena for allegedly soliciting money from them with a promise to take them overseas for job opportunities under a company called Arova Reality Limited in 2021.
When contacted,The Manager of Arova Reality, Jafah Yosah denied the allegation and said these youth are being used to taint the image of Minister Betty Amongi Akena.
One of those crying foul, Freda Akello said she contributed shs.700, 000 and was promised 2.5 million shillings salary per month once she secures a job overseas but this in turn has not yielded.
