Bishop Olwa warns Lira City leaders against deceit and corruption

Bishop of Lango Diocese, Rt Rev Professor Alfred Olwa has warned politicians and clergy in Lango against deceit.
Professor Olwa sounded the warning on Monday during a thanks giving prayers organized by Lira City leadership for passing the 2022-2023 financial year budget.
He said most politicians and religious leaders are full of deceit which has made people lose trust in them.
Bishop Olwa also tasked Lira City leaders on accountability and transparency in utilization of public funds to ensure value for money.
He also revealed that the arch Bishop of the Church of Uganda Samuel Stephen Kazima Mugalu will be visiting Lango diocese next month.
Resident City Commissioner Lira City, Lawrence Egole warned Lira City leaders against corruption tendencies.
Lira City Council mayor Sam Atul decried low revenue collection by Lira ciyty council which is retarding development of the city.
Pastor Johnson Ogema directed prayer for divine guidance for Lira city leaders.
