MP Opio Acuti speaks out on school fees increment

Kole North MP Dr Samuel Opio Acuti has asked the government to reign on schools that are increasing school fees with impunity.
On Tuesday, Dr Samuel Opio Acuti asked parliament to compel the government to act on schools that have continued to hike school fees,making education unaffordable to some parents.
Speaking to Voice of Lango yesterday, Opio Acuti expressed fear that some parents may fail to send their children back to school for third term, considering the fact that most schools have increased school fees.
Opio Acuti cited some schools that he said had made students pay shs. 600,000 for the board members besides meeting 28 other requirements.
The state minister of education and sports Joyce Moriku said the government is already in the process of regulating school fees payment in schools.
Rolex Aloro Ario the inspector of schools in Alebtong district has welcomed the development saying it will save parents from losing their money to some schools.
