Teachers of Lira P7 are grappling with accommodation challenges as only seven out of 22 teachers are residing within the school.

The school head teacher Benson Ario said most of their teachers are renting houses outside the school since they currently have only seven staff houses that are not adequate to accommodate all teachers.

He said the school is also not well secured which has encouraged outsiders to trespass the school premises

Ario cited an incident where some unknown people destroyed part of the school wire fence and some suspects were arrested and taken to Teolam Police Out post but they denied knowledge of the incident.

Dr. Jaspher Abura the principal education officer, Lira City Council said there’s no budget in place for construction of teachers’ accommodation at the school but asked parents of government aided schools to make contributions for the same cause.
