Eight year old child commits suicide in Kwania district

An eight year old girl has committed suicide in Nambieso Sub County, Kwania district.

Elly Akello who had remained home with her siblings as their mother was weeding the garden and his father had gone to Apac hospital for medical attention reportedly hanged herself inside the house using a mosquito net.

Akello is the daughter to the LC1 chairman of Ayat A, Tony Otim

The LC1 chairman of Ayat B, Morris Ogwal said the body of the deceased was found by her siblings hanging in the house.

The LC2 chairman of Ojokdot parish, Jacob Akwanga said Akello had a misunderstanding with her siblings over who was supposed to wash utensils.

By press time Akwanga said they were in touch with police who were yet to arrive at the crime scene.

On 14/09/2022 an 11 year old child committed suicide in Mpigi district.
