Lira City to assess works executed by Abubaker Technical Services

Lira City Council will assess work done by Al-Nuiami Group and Abubaker Technical Services that is tarmacking roads in Lira city under the Uganda Support for Municipal Infrastructure Development (USMID) program before extending their contract.

Town Clerk of Lira City, Theopilas Tibahika said after meeting the contractors that the contract will be extended after assessment of the current work done. He decried slow implementation of the project by the contractor.

This is so far the third time that the contract is being extended but the contractors have since failed to complete the project.

Last week, Lira City acting engineer Freddie Owiny said the contractor would be fined once the contract is extended again.

Al-Nuiami Group and Abubaker Technical Services is undertaking construction of Obangakene , Noteber , Aber , Olwol , Uhuru and Boundary road as well as Adyel children’s park and Coronation Park.
