Otuke residents sleeping outside to protect cattle from Karamoja rustlers

Local of Olilim, Ogor and Ogwete Sub County in Otuke district are sleeping outside to protect their cattle from suspected Karamojong cattle rustlers.
Peter Okweda the LC3 chairman of Ogwete and Francis Otyama of Olilim Sub County said locals are sleeping outside to watch over the animals which they are using chains to protect from being stolen.
Jimmy Patrick Okema the North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson recently called for vigilance among locals on Karamojong cattle raiders.
Otuke East MP Julius Acon Bua said some unscrupulous people are also stealing cattle in Otuke besides the cattle rustlers.
Otuke district woman MP Susan Abeja raised the issue as a matter of national importance in parliament.
Huda Abason Oleru, State Minister in-charge of veteran Affairs said he will meet the people of Otuke next week to resolve on issues of insecurity in the district.
