Otuke.

The former Resident District Commissioner of Alebtong, Josephine Omara Olili Tuesday evening shocked leaders from Lango who had gone to meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni over the rampant cattle raids after kneeling and begging the commander in Chief for several minutes to redeploy her.

Omara Olili served as an RDC for nearly two and half years following her appointment as the Resident District Commissioner of Alebtong in 2018, a position she held upto late 2020 before throwing up the towel to contest in the 2021 Parliamentary elections.

She got highly bruised after suffering a heavy defeat in the NRM party Parliamentary elections for the Woman MP seat of Otuke District, an election that was won by the Sylvia Akello.

During the Tuesday’s meeting at Baralegi, after the President’s address, like other leaders who raised up to provide more solutions to add to what the President deliberated on, looking cold, deflated and  shivering Omara Olili went down on her knees for many minutes begging the President to reconsider her.

Omara who was very remorseful, asked the President to forgive her for anything she could have done wrong and reappoint her again as RDC.

This conduct, didn’t go well with seasoned politician also FDC stalwart Barbra Cecilia Atim Ogwal who says, Omara should have sought private audience with the head of state rather than bringing her personal problems to Museveni in the public.

According to Ogwal, the act of bringing personal problems in a very important meeting depicts the people of Lango as people who are self-centered and greedy.

Speaking during the popular topical discussion program,”Wimeja” on Voice of Lango FM, Ogwal says this kind of conduct is uncalled.

The President however didn’t respond to Omara’s pleas during the meeting and remains unknown if he will act on it.

Museveni has pitched camped in Lango since Saturday to meet leaders from different regions to discuss with them new government strategies and interventions which he believes will put to an end the cattle rustling by the Karamojong.

On Monday he used the day to meet leaders from Acholi sub region, met the leaders from Lango on Tuesday and today Wednesday he is meeting the leaders from Karamoja sub region.
