Lira City West Division councilors reignite process to censure speaker

The process of censuring Lira City West Division speaker has started afresh following a letter written by the electoral commission returning officer for Lira city calling for a council meeting on the 24th/07/2023.
Voice of Lango obtained a copy of the letter written by Hasakye Rashid on the 17th/07/2023 calling councilors to a council meeting to debate on the process of removing Daniel Okello from office on the 24th/07/2023.
Hasakye reasoned that the interim order issued on the 11th/11/2023 to halt the censure process was vacated by the court on 13th/07/2023 giving lee way to continue with the process.
He said the lead petitioner Samuel Akaa has instructed him to continue with the process of censuring Okello from office.
The Speaker Lira city west Division Daniel Okello said he is aware that the process of censuring him has again begun but he has nothing to do about it.
Attempts to hear from Samuel Akaa was futile since his phone number was off by press time.
