E- receipting taking shape in Lira

The government revenue collection Agency URA has developed an electronic fiscal receipting that can easily help buyers to boost commercial transactions.
The electronic system which was launched on Monday, 17th/July/2023 in Lango sub- region has so far realized benefits.
The electronic receipting is an automated compliance process established to man tracking of all invoices and receipts by tax payers in Uganda.
This was revealed by Geofrey Mujabi, the regional head of Uganda Revenue Authority during the lunch at Lira Mayors’ garden.
The latest regulation passed by Uganda Revenue Authority requires that all businesses registered in Uganda should go through EFRIS (Electronic receipting and invoicing system) through the tax authority’s website
He added that this system provides assistance with tracking and it assures authenticity of all transactions in real time by minimizing delays.
Mujabi appreciated Lira as an industrious center that realizes benefits of paying tax and encouraged them to keep the spirit in order to support the government and it’s citizens.
