An interim regional committee formed for the burial of former Dokolo Woman Mp Cecila Ogwal

An interim regional committee has been set up for the burial of the former Dokolo Woman Mp Cecila Ogwal who died yesterday from an Indian Hospital at the age of 77.

Yesterday, in a meeting held at her home in Te Obia, Lira City East Division, a Regional Committee comprising of Lira Resident City Commissioner, Lawrence Emmy Egole as chairperson former Aruu county Mp Samuel Odonga Otoo, vice chairperson,  Dokolo LC5 James Otoo Apili and Regional Police Commander North Kyoga Commissioner Deo Obura will be in charge of security.

Other committee members are Micheal Alani, manager of Feliestar Pharmacy is the treasurer, Chairperson FDC Lira  District Joel Okao Tema, clan chief of Malakwanga George Rashid Opio, BF Otim Ogwal and RDC of Dokolo Barbra Akech will be in charge of publicity.

The Dokolo and Kole committee will be chaired by Dokolo LC5 chairperson James Otoo Apili and Kole District LC5 Chairperson Andrew Moses Awany respectively.

In the tentative program that the committee came with, when the body reaches Uganda it will be taken to parliament for Mps to pay the last respects and later the following day the body will be brought to Dokolo where there will be a joint council meeting in her honor.

After the body will be taken to her home in Adok sub county and in the following day her body will be brought to St Augustine Barogole for a requiem service and later the body will be taken to her home in  Te-Obia for a night vigil.

A day after, the body will be taken to Alito sub county in Kole district for burial.

The chairperson for the regional burial committee Lawrence Egole said they have started making contacts with the parliament and government to ensure that the former legislator gets a decent send off.
