UCC Aduku goes six years without students’ graduation

Uganda College of Commerce (UCC) Aduku has not held graduation of students for the past six years due to delays by National Council of Higher Education to approve members of the college governing council.

Addressing members of the governing council of UCC Aduku, Dorcus Wangari the LCV councilor of Aduku town council to Kwania district council said since their election in 2022 they have not been approved by National council.

Wangari said failure to approve the governing council is stifling implementation of various activities at the college.

George William Omony, the outgoing Principal of UCC Aduku who has been transferred to UCC Tororo said due to delays to approve the governing council, they failed to utilize 50 million shillings that lies idle in the Bank.

Kabachwamba Zainab the new principal of UCC-Aduku said she will follow up on the approval of the governing council by National Council for Higher Education.

Alex Kagume Chairperson of National Council of Higher Education advised members of the governing council of UCC Aduku to lodge formal complaints for redress.
