Minster Amongi donates 20M to Lira City LCs Sacco

The Minister of gender, labor, and social development, Betty Amongi Akena has donated 20 million shillings to support he Local Council one Sacco in Lira City.
Out of the 20 million shillings, 10 million was given to LC1s Sacco’s of Lira City West Division and another 10 to Lira City West Division.
Speaking to the local council chairpersons of Lira City at Little flowers nursery and primary school, Lira City ,Saturday afternoon, Minister Amongi committed to link the LC1s with Uganda Micro Finance Support Centre Limited to get low interest credit to support their businesses.

According to Oyam County South legislator, many people who have now become successful entrepreneurs seized the opportunities of securing cheaper credit from financial institutions.
The chairperson of Lira City West Division LC1s, George Otwal thanked Minister Betty Amongi for supporting the village bosses who have for long been forgotten in issues of development despite their immense contribution to the country’s development.
The chairperson of Lira City East Division LC1s, Moses Okullu Opio said they will utilize this funding to support different development projects.
