RDC Arikwanga cautions Kwania PDM SACCO leaders against extortion

Kwania Resident District Commissioner Richard Arikwanga Noon has vehemently warned Parish Development Model SACCO leaders against extorting money from locals in order to be included as beneficiaries in the program.
Arikwanga sounded the warning on Tuesday during signing of financial agreements and training of Community Development Officers, Sub County chiefs, PDM Sacco Chairpersons among others drawn from 49 parishes of the 11 Sub Counties in Kwania District.
Kwania RDC Richard Arikwanga Noon in his address noted that a section of PDM Sacco leaders in Kwania have been extorting money by using the names of the RDC, LCV and CAO, warning that those caught in the act will be arrested and prosecuted.
Katherine Akello, Principal Commercial Officer of Kwania who is also the focal point person for PDM and Emyooga programs said they have received 50 out the 100 shillings Million for the second phase of the PDM which will be disbursed to the beneficiaries.
Agenes Auma Etyak the secretary for finance of Kwania district accused some PDM SACCO leaders of extorting huge sums of money from locals.
Job Brown Agea the secretary of Ogwil-Ayabi PDM Sacco called for transparency among the PDM sacco leaders in executing their roles.
Recently Kwania District received shillings 2.4Billion out of the total 49Billion meant for the PDM for the financial year 2024/2025.
Out of this, the SACCO leaders will utilize 12 Million for operational expenses.
