Lira City Comprehensive SS director arrested over defilement

Police of Adok Police Out Post in Dokolo district in conjunction with their counterparts of Lira City Central Police Station have arrested the executive director of Lira City Comprehensive SS, Jacob Owino over allegation of defiling a 17- year old minor.

A police officer who pleaded for anonymity said Owino was arrested with two other people who reportedly used to transport the minor from Lira city to corner Agwata in Dokolo district.

Constantino Okabo the LC1 chairman of Apii Bor, Amonoloo parish in Adok Sub County said Owino hired some people from Lira city who transported the girl to his home and has been defiling her.

Nelson Ayato the father of the minor said Owino will have to face the long arm of the law for defiling his daughter who has been training in tailoring and garment cutting.

Sarah Akao said their daughter had disappeared from home for long, adding that Owino yesterday told them he would pay ransom, forcing her husband to report the matter to police.

A defilement case has been opened against Owino vide file number 08/12/06/2024.
