Kwania civil servants on the spot over child abandonment

Police have cautioned civil servants in Kwania district against child abandonment.
The warning was made yesterday at the commemoration of the Day of the African Child for Kwania district held at Ikwera Negri Primary School, Aduku Town Council.
ASP Okello Akech, the officer in charge Child and Family protection unit at Kwania Central Police Station said they have been receiving several complaints of child abandonment registered against civil servants of Kwania district.
She said the civil servants are accused of having affair with women whom they impregnate and abandon with children.
However, Nicholas Akwang the deputy Chief Administrative Officer of Kwania condemned such acts but said he has not received any complaint of child abandonment against civil servants in the district.
Mary Ayigi Alal, a pupil of Ikwera Negri Primary School for the Disabled who was chief guest at the Day of the African child cautioned parents against engaging in acts that negatively impact their children’s future.
