The bishop emeritus of West Lango diocese, Alfred Acur Okodi, has urged school administrations to investigate the increasing incidents of student strikes.
During his address at Lira Town College in Lira city yesterday, following the swearing-in of prefects, UNSA representatives, and students’ religious representatives of the school, Bishop Alfred Acur Okodi emphasized the need for an inquiry into the spontaneous student strikes occurring in various schools within Lango Sub Region.
Acur Okodi noted that many of these strikes lack substantial reasons and urged schools to address student grievances effectively to prevent such occurrences.
He also encouraged students to prioritize their education and refrain from engaging in disruptive behaviors.

Etwop Aggrey Jackson, a member of the board of governors at Lira Town College, advised students to collaborate with school authorities to address their complaints.
The outgoing head prefect of Lira Town College, Orach Ivan Nicholas, attributed his successful tenure to his close interaction with fellow students.
The head girl of the school, Abong Annette, similarly credited her successful term to the high level of discipline maintained by the students.
The incoming UNSA president, Ngole Thomas, expressed his commitment to fostering unity and cooperation among the student body.

During the months of May and June this year, incidents of student strikes were reported at Amugu SS, Akii Bua SS, Akura SS, and King James SS, all in Lango Sub Region.
