New wave of murder in Lango sub region worries locals

Five people have been murdered by the mob in Lango sub region in the last eight days.
Notable among the murder cases include; the lynching and burning of the body of a suspected thief by locals of Ireda Shamba, Lira City East division over the weekend, while on 26/07/2024, in Ayami Sub County, Lira district an angry mob lynched one Ojan Lawrence who was accused of stealing a child for sacrifice.
On 25/07/2024, locals of Starch Factory, Lira City West Division also killed a suspected goat thief while in Teilwa A, Atongtidi Sub County, Kwania district, one Anam Christopher, was lynched, on 13th July 2024.
On 15th /07/2024, in Apalamio, Apoi Sub County, Apac district one Oyet Denis, 50 was also lynched while, on 16th /07/2024, in Bar-munu, Ngai Sub County, Oyam district, one Ayoo Denis, 27 years was also killed by the mob.
North Kyoga police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema condemned mob action in Lango, adding that suspects by law are supposed to be subjected to legal action.
