Alebtong chairman wants science laboratories established in all secondary schools

Alebtong district chairman David Kennedy Odongo has asked government to establish science laboratories in all secondary schools to support teaching of sciences among students.
This comes after Abia seed secondary school came second in the Stanbic National Schools Championship 2024, wining 10million shillings while teachers won one million shillings each and each student was also awarded with a phone.
Abia seed secondary school competed with other top schools like, Wanyange Girls’ Secondary School, St. Joseph’s High School Namagunga, Immaculate Heart Girls School Nyakibale, Jinja College among others, at an event held at Serena hotel last week.
Students of Abia seed secondary school made a padlock that is operated on phone and can send a signal to the phone in case a padlock is tampered with.
Odongo DK, said this is an indicator that rural schools are capable of producing scientists like engineers and doctors, which calls for government, to equip schools with science laboratories to support learning of sciences
Abia Sub County chairman, Akung James Wapakabulo called government to put aside more funds to promote science and innovation.
