Gov’t to construct modern drug stores at Anyeke Health Center IV and Apac general hospital

Government has selected Anyeke health center 4 and Apac general hospital among health facilities where modern drug stores will be constructed.
The permanent secretary in ministry of health, Dr. Diana Atwine said they are sourcing for a contractor to undertake the project in the two health facilities.
Oyam district chairman, Benson Dila Oyuku said they are preparing for the upgrade of Anyeke health center 4 to a district hospital and working to fully equip it to meet the standard of a district hospital.
Dila said the UPDF engineering brigade is currently constructing the out-patients department worth over shs400million at the facility.
He said Oyam district has 18 health center III’s and constructing the modern drug store will support proper drug storage for these health facilities.
The secretary for health and education in Apac district, Sam Opira said the district is set to receive shs.1billion from government for the renovation of staff accommodation, wards and a drug store, that were established way back in 1968 at Apac general hospital.
