Police in Oyam hunt for man for sodomising wife

Police has launched a search for one Odongo Sam, a local of Oyam district accused of sodomizing his wife Angom Sarah, leading to her death.
North Kyoga region police spokesperson, Jimmy Patrick Okema said Odongo committed the crime on 8th August and was arrested on 13th August 2024 but went into hiding, shortly after his release on police bond.
Addressing the press at Lira City central police station, Okema said Odongo is also suspected of inflicting injuries on his late wife’s private parts using suspected object upon returning from his hangout under the influence of drugs.
According to Okema, the incident happened in Acek -Were ‘B’ village, Omac parish in Ngai Sub-County
The late Angom Sarah died on 29 August 2024, after her relatives failed to take her to Mulago hospital where she had been referred due to financial constraint. Okema asked the public to avail reliable information that could lead to the arrest of Odongo.
