Six youths arrested over forgery of academic papers to join Uganda police force

Six youths have been arrested in Lira city over forgery of academic documents to join the police force as probation constables.
The suspects recorded statements and were charged with impersonation and presenting false documents before being detained at Lira City central Police station.
North Kyoga region police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema declined to declare the identity of the suspects.
The recruitment of probation constables in Lira city was conducted from 21st to 22nd October 2022 led by ACP Wanyama Denis and North Kyoga regional police mouth piece Okema Patrick Jimmy on behalf of the RPC.
140 probation constables were recruited in Lira city out of 142, after two were dropped due to health challenges.
