Five arrested in Alebtong over rape of 16 year old girl

Five people are being held at Alebtong police station in connection with the rape of a 16 year old girl in Abako Sub County yesterday.

The suspects are said to be blockers had gone to load produce in Amononeno parish allegedly jumped from the vehicle they were travelling in, grabbed the minor who was from Amononeno trading center and forced her into the vehicle from where they reportedly raped her.

Abako Sub County chairman John Odongo said the matter was reported to him by some locals and he consequently informed police who swung in action and arrested the five suspects.

John Odongo however said the prime suspect identified only as  Okello is still on the run.

The District police commander of Alebtong Abel Muwonge could not be reached for comments as he did not answer our calls.

The deputy Resident District Commissioner of Alebtong Dwanwa Stephen by press time said he was still meeting.
