Police investigates escape of 11 suspects at Dokolo CPS

Police in Dokolo CPS are hunting and investigating circumstances under which 11 suspects escaped from cells at Dokolo central police station. 

It’s alleged that on the 23rd-February-2023, at an unknown time in the night, 11 suspects escaped from lawful custody from Dokolo Central Police Station prompting police to register a case vide Dokolo CRB 138/2023.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga regional police spokesperson said officers who were deployed for night duty as cells guard have all been arrested and charged with Neglect of duty.

Okema notes that the scene has been documented by the SOCO, statements recorded from suspects (cells guard) and files are being compiled on criminal charges and will be submitted to the Resident State Attorney for legal advice.

According to Okema, police established that the door to the cell was not tempered with; rather, the suspects exited the cells by cutting one of the iron bars on the ventilators.

Out of the 11 escapees, nine of them were pending trial and 02 were still under investigations.

The suspects who escaped are; Raymond Okwang, Innocent Owiny, Allan Adep, Daniel Okwir, Ivan Epong, Micheal Eboga, Oscar Ebwor, Aron Oryee, Patrick Ekadu, Ronald Okodi and Isaac Okello. 

He appeals for support from the local leadership in the hunt for these suspects such that they can be re-arrested and taken to court accordingly.
