Prince Olobo Sworn-in as Awitong of Atek Omwonpel

Prince Anthony Olobo Odur the son of the reigning Paramount Chief Yosam Odur Ebir, has been sworn-in as the Awitong (Overall Clan Head) of Atek Omwonpel.

Last month Olobo defeated three others to clich the converted position of Awitong of Atek Omwonpel after garnering 1296.

His closest challenger Lawrence Obel got 642,incumbebt Charles Oyuku garnered 492 while Robert Otim got 100.

Today Olobo was sworn in by seasoned city attorney and commissioner of oath Bosco Twontoo Obaa at a ceremony held in Acaba Oyam District.

The other clan leaders who were sworn in following their appointment to the clan executive position include Apac RDC Abdul George who was sworn in as chief advisor, Geoffrey Okaka as speaker,Ministers in the office of Awitong, Rwode (Saja Chiefs) and Jagi(Sub-chiefs).

In his first address to the clan members after swearing in,Olobo pledged to foster unity and spur social economic transformation among his subjects.

It is still not known, if Olobo will in the future harbour interest of being Paramount Chief and walk into the footsteps of his father, Yosam Odur Ebii(94) who will abdicate office in November 2024
