Police commence search for Lira based business man, Awio

Police has asked relatives of Awio Isaac Jackson alias Awio scrap dealer to report his disappearance to allow investigation to be launched on whether he has died or moved out of the country as it is being speculated.
On Monday, social media was awash after unidentified person called someone through Awio’s phone with claim that the latter had drowned in Lake Victoria where he was having leisure.
Other Videos of Awio inside the water talked of enjoying life for the very last time on earth were also circulated on social media.
However, other reports later emerged that Awio had flown out of the country.
The Uganda police spokesperson Fred Enanga said following these reports, police was deployed on Lake Victoria but it was discovered that nobody had drowned on the lake.
Enanga asked the relatives of Awio Scrap to report his disappearance to police to aid investigation.
He said police will also investigate reports that he moved out of the country through getting information including airports to find his whereabouts.
Anthony Okello the father said they have reported Awio’s disappearance to police of Lira City West division.
